About CBD

The human nervous system contains a large number of receptors. One of the receptor systems is the so-called endocannabinoid system (ECS). ECS receptors are located in the human brain and in the peripheral nervous system – spinal cord and nerves. The endocannabinoid system is the body’s regulator for the immune system.

In the brain, the receptors reside in areas responsible for perception, concentration, memory and movement. That’s why the ECS is involved in the regulation of many physiological processes including the feeling of pain, mood, and appetite. Interestingly, the ECS is also a part of in neural system response to physical excise. “Runner’s high” is caused by ECS action. Bet you didn’t know that!

The most recognized and studied ECS receptors include the CB1 and CB2 receptors. The receptors bind cannabinoid-like molecules produced by the nervous system, endorphins. One of the endorphin molecules transmitting signals in the ECS is 2-Arachidonoylglycerol (2-AG). It binds to CB1 and CB2 receptors. Cannabidiol, CBD, also bind to these receptors and replicates the effects of 2-AG.

CBD binds to the same receptors as psychoactive THC but has an opposite effect. If THC gets your nervous system into overdrive CBD makes it slow down.

In research, CBD has shown anti-spasmodic, anti-psychotic, anti-convulsive, and neuroprotective properties. Therefore, using CBD containing oil is a good way of muscle and general relaxation. CBD also alleviates everyday stress and makes the nervous system more resilient. That is why we came up with our slogan: “Calm your nervous system”!

People often joke about the herb’s ability to heal a wide variety of seemingly unrelated conditions. But, we now understand that these conditions are all regulated in part by the ECS. Plant based cannabinoid supplementation can provide therapeutic relief.

What is CBD?

CBD is a cannabinoid found within both hemp and cannabis. Unlike THC, CBD is non-psychedelic and you cannot get high from CBD oil. Although CBD is largely being embraced as a supplement these days, we cannot offer any health or medical advice regarding its use. We strongly advise you conduct your own research into its qualities.

Where can I use CBD oil for?

Due to the fact hemp and its products contain virtually no THC, it is considered legal within most European countries. However, laws change frequently so please consult the specific laws regarding CBD in your country of residence.

Are hemp and hemp based oils legal?

Due to the fact hemp and its products contain virtually no THC, it is considered legal within most European countries. However, laws change frequently so please consult the specific laws regarding CBD in your country of residence.

Are hemp and CBD the same?

No, they aren’t. Although they belong to the same family of plants, hemp has had the THC bred out of it. Hemp has no psychoactive effects – you cannot get high of it.

What does Full-spectrum CBD mean?

Full-spectrum CBD indicates that the whole spectrum of cannabinoids will stay present with the extraction process. CBD is just one kind of cannabinoid. The molecules that are in the same range as CBD, like CBC and CBG, are also present in our CBD oils. When a cannabisplant grows, all of these ingrediënt are already there. Our body thrive on a healthy range of what Mother Nature have provided us with.

What are terpenes?

Terpenes, or isoprenoids, provide cannabis with its unique bouquet. The molecules are quite small and consist of repeating units of a compound called isoprene. Although less well-known than the major cannabinoids, terpenes are instrumental to the physiological and psychoactive effects of cannabis. The relationship between terpenes and cannabinoids, known as the “entourage effect,” ultimately differentiates one strain of cannabis from another.

Terpenes play a vital role in the plant kingdom; they deter insect predation, protect plants from environmental stresses, and act as building blocks for more complex molecules, such as cannabinoids. Many terpenes act synergistically with other varieties of terpenes, and some either catalyze or inhibit formation of different compounds within a plant.

Product Information

How much Holy Ganja CBD oil should I use?

We cannot give exact advice on the amount of CBD to consume. The dose is dependent on many factors such as weight, height, gender, disease and pain intensity.

The average use is 3-4 drops / 3 times a day. Start with a low dosage of 1 drop for 2 or 3 times per day and keep in mind the effects can take up to 2 weeks to show, only if no effects appear after this period you can increase your dosage. Our Original Raw Oil contains 800mg in the 10ml bottle, resulting in around 4mg of CBD per drop. The Water Soluble has its unique bottle with one pump equaling around 0,2 ml containing 8mg of water soluble CBD. Which is about 5x more effective, so go slow and low and build your dosage gradually.

Your traditional CBD oil is pretty dark, compared to some other brands which have almost transparent CBD oils, why is there such a difference?

Our traditional CBD oil is made from the raw and pure extract of the flower tops, it is not purified because we believe in the holistic benefits of the whole plant extract. So all the vital plant greens are still in the product. If you can see through a CBD oil, it is not a true plant product anymore and wont be as effective as it should be. It is a bit like with rice, sugar and bread: you have the white and brown variant of which everybody knows which one is more healthy. If you are having trouble with the strong taste of our traditional CBD oil, you should definitely try our water soluble CBD, based on curcuma with a much sweeter after taste and the possibility to mix it in your desired drink instead of pure consumption.

Is Holy Ganja CBD Oil suitable for me, and will it help me with my condition?

Many regard CBD oil to be a worthwhile supplement; however, we cannot offer any health or medical advice regarding its use. We strongly encourage you to conduct your own research into the matter.

Do you test your CBD products?

Yes, of course! We want to know everything about our CBD oil, so we let it test it by an independent laboratorium. This way we check its free from any harmful substances plus see how many cannabinoïds are present in our CBD oils. In conjunction with our production partner we also test the batches separately before filling and/or before sending out. Our business orders are only sent out with a potency report of the actual content and we even give potency guarantee with our products based on our proprietary Potency-Lock system. You can download the labtests here.

How do I store Holy Ganja CBD oil?

Light, heat, and air exposure all play a part in the breakdown of natural cannabinoids like CBD, so it is important to defend against them. A kitchen cabinet or desk drawer fully meets these requirements. The temperature of the space environment should be between 6-20 degrees Celsius.
